Top 8 Google Traffic Misconceptions
MISCONCEPTION #1: "I don't need 1,000's of webpages - my small website should be enough." WHY IT'S A MISCONCEPTION: Imagine YouTube with just 5 pages... do you think they'd have the same level of traffic? You're getting traffic only to the level of what you've built. An 8-page website can only be optimized for a small portion of your total searching market. Add more webpages, and you'll get new visitors.
MISCONCEPTION #2: "I'm already showing up for my top keyword - that's where all the traffic comes from." WHY IT'S A MISCONCEPTION: There is probably no such thing as a website where all the visitors only come through 1-3 keywords. We have never seen one. On every website that gets at least 100 visitors, at least 80 of the visitors came through entirely different keyword (keyword combinations). You always see this when doing keyword research, as well. For example: there are about 40,500 searches monthly for the exact word: 'annuity', but 673,000 searches monthly for keywords that INCLUDE the word 'annuity'. This concept continues to be true even if we dig deeper: one such segment is: 'fixed annuity' -- with 2,900 searches monthly for EXACTLY that keyword ('fixed annuity'). But keywords that CONTAIN that keyword have 22,200 searches monthly: virtually 20,000 more searches a month that are DIFFERENT than the exact phrase, and they differ in 1,000's of different ways, like every other keyword search on Google. Google directly says that about 500,000,000 searches DAILY are NEVER repeated, at least within a single year. It's mind-boggling to realize how different those searches that can lead to you are, and it's also the reason we set out to capture more of that market for every client, which is why we created this completely whitehat Google-saturation service in the first place.
MISCONCEPTION #3: "Google hates big websites." WHY IT'S A MISCONCEPTION: Google loves big websites, as long as the webpages all relate to your running theme, which allows Google to reclassify your website as an 'authority site' because of all the related content you have on that website - that's how Google can list 10 websites above millions of others for any given keyword. Google tends to pick the largest websites it can find, where Google can understand the pages via on-page SEO. Having lots of properly-written webpages is extremely healthy for your free visibility on Google.
MISCONCEPTION #4: "Since Google always changes algorithms, on-page SEO is just temporary - what works today, crashes tomorrow." WHY IT'S A MISCONCEPTION: With SEO services that optimize a single webpage at a time, Google's changes to algorithms can absolutely affect that page, one way or another. But with us, we create 10,000's of webpages - and if some webpages happen to go down in rank, others go UP: our net result is that our runs keep improving for our clients over months and even years (we've been doing such Runs for over 2.5 years, now). This is because we focus on the foundational SEO items that will never change: Google does not make major changes to 'title tags, meta description tags, and keyword density, alt codes (which is how the blind can understand what images on a webpage are all about), and other items that cannot materially change simply because humans would no longer be able to write webpages using regular human rules. Imagine what changing keyword density, dramatically, would have to mean for the entire net!
MISCONCEPTION #5: "There is no way to automatically create 1,000's of webpages. They must be written manually, or they wind up unreadable and Google throws them out." WHY IT'S A MISCONCEPTION: That used to be true, but not anymore! Most of the big websites, especially news-based websites (think MSNBC and others), directories, real-estate listings, and other table-based websites (like stock graphs, 1000+ product catalogs, and gold prices each day) create content automatically. We invented the completely whitehat method of spinning webpages for anything you want, and we proved that our method is whitehat on over one hundred Pro MOWG Runs and literally thousands of student runs. MISCONCEPTION #6: "I want front page for short-tail keywords - because by winning those, Google naturally gives me front page for the long-tail variations." WHY IT'S A MISCONCEPTION: Google treats ALL keywords differently (short-tail and long-tail). You can test this yourself easily: search Google for a short-tail keyword. Make note of the top 10 free listings (websites) that appear. Then, add a word or two to your search, and note those websites that appear on the front page. Compare the results: Google only shows 10 free website results on the front page. So, for every new website that appears, one from your first search had to be re-shuffled off the front page - often hundreds of 'next 10 results' pages down (this is where everyone is losing free traffic, by the way!) The reason for lots of webpages is to have lots of front-page qualifiers, allowing both long-tail and short-tail domination of front-page search results.
Last, but not least -- MISCONCEPTION #7: "There has to be a better way to market on the internet." WHY IT'S A MISCONCEPTION: A lot of our clients actually have this question subconsciously, rather than voicing it... it's a way of avoiding commiting to a Pro MOWG Run until you have really thought about your options out there. We can tell you this: no matter where you market, if you PAY for clicks, you can count how much 1,000 visitors will cost (whether you get that in a month, week, or day). If 1,000 visitors cost you $0.25/click, there you have it: $250 for every 1,000 visitors. 10,000 visitors (in a month, week, or day) would cost you $2,500. And another 10,000 would mean you spent $5,000 SO FAR (and the costs never end for new visitors!) This is why saturating Google's FREE listings, for as much FREE traffic as you can possibly get over months and years is the absolute best marketing move. First, get tons of free traffic. That way you get ongoing sales for free, week after week. Then, with the cash you make from those sales, you can consider what else to add to your marketing mix, for marginal gains (while still getting your max free traffic, every week!) As for other free marketing opportunities - you'll never find a bigger stack of live, human prospects anywhere than on Google! This is what we learned long ago, and why we offer Pro MOWG Runs (our services to you).
